The Make store Open source hardware gift guide is pretty fun.

Some of this stuff is be old news, but Textually has a good listing of weird and interesting new mobile phone technologies – there’s also PicturePhoning, which is mostly about mobile imaging stuff.   Some stuff on their list…

+ Wireless Skin-patch ID’s for hospitals – Like rfid bandaids

+ AugMe – Make your own QRCode tshirts that link to your facebook/myspace/whatever profile

+ ConsumerGadget Go to this url on your phone, type in a barcode, and get the “ethical” background for a product.  I’m not sure why there’s a link to “beer” on the left side of the page….
